Etherborn: T-Shirt Design

This is the design I created for the t-shirts we gave to our Fig backers, in 2019.

I didn't want to make something that was too literal to the visual elements found in the game, so instead I focused on the conceptual relationship that is implied between the human body and other patterns found in nature.
The main character of Etherborn looks more or less like a transparent mannequin, showing a large part of her circulatory system, pink colored. On the other hand, the central hub of the game is a giant tree that players must walk to reach the different levels of the game.

I painted a pink rim light on the edges to keep a more direct reference to the actual colors of the character, and added the dodecahedron -which is an item used to solve puzzles in the game-. The dodecahedron is the most complex of the platonic solids, and according to Plato, it was "used by the Demiurge to trace the plans of the universe". Because of this, the dodecahedron is often related to the ideas of wisdom, or knowledge. This symbolism was used intentionally in the game; even though it wasn't an especially relevant idea, but more like a small detail, suggesting that the users were solving the game by playing around with their knowledge of the world.
